Here's an editorial illustration I recently did for Seattle Magazine's August issue. The article was about how to bring in a wider crowd to the Renaissance Fair by incorporating some current trends in popular culture and technology to the mix. The AD Sue Boylan wanted to convey a scene in a mud pit with people playing with their various mobile devices, labtops, etc...

The Digital Renaissance Faire is a B.Y.O.E. (Bring Your Own Everything) Community Based Educational Collaborative Art Festival practicing DECOMMODIFICATION and SACRED ECONOMY within a festival community environment taking place near South Lake Tahoe May 23rd-27th. We are proud to announce our current theme camp participants:
Barbie Death Camp will be hosting the Air Village with Digital Apex as the village sound camp. InpsydouT will be providing an incredible black-light art gallery while the Financial Liberation Institute will be hosting the village workshop space. Remixed Ink will be bringing a screen printing SWAG theme camp. MAP (Music, Art, Poetry) is presenting a live music and performance theme camp. And The YUM Truck will be cooking up some amazing food for you to sample Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Sacred Spaces will be hosting the Earth Village with Hookahdome as the village sound camp. EVOLVER will be providing a village workshop space while Healing Sensations will be hosting a massage healing theme camp. SoulShine will be bringing their chakra balancing theme camp providing aroma therapy with scented candles, oils, soaps, and elixirs.
FluxFire will be hosting the Fire Village with The Othership as the village sound camp. Leafy Green Gallery will be providing a sculpture gallery with live demos of glass blowing and metal welding. Rainbow Heart will be providing a village workshop space while the Sensuality Salon will be hosting an activity theme camp that connects your heart to your senses. Burn After Reading Magazine and Raised By Wolves will be bringing a refreshing coffee bar. PyroClastic Flow will be spinning some amazing fire art.
Camp Happy Hour will be hosting the Water Village with Sustainable Bass Collective as the village sound camp. Camp Happy Hour will provide a bar and an art gallery. The Inversion Playground and outdoor workshop space will be hosted by Tahoe Ciello Aerialists. Unique Exposures is bringing a photo booth for families and people of all ages to get photos during the day, then at night, adults can get their own photos taken. For those of you looking to find some new clothes for your Summer Festival season, the Air Village will have a Village Clothing Exchange.
The Aether Village will be hosted by the Digital Renaissance Faire Spirit Guides. It will include the Information Booth, Ice Sales, and the Spirit Stage, a 24 hour open mic stage for any type of live performance you would like to provide as an offering. The Aether Village Workshop Space will be hosted by Rainbow Ranch. Sk8&Create will host the outdoor art gallery and mini skate park. 9Energies will bring their theme camp which will show which energy is your superpower. Behind the Spirit Stage we will have the Gifts of the Goddess Tea House.
The Hip-Hop Congress will be hosting the Youth Village. We also have a Silent Disco being provided by ZeroDB and Illumination Dissemination Theater, a movie theater providing education documentaries and forward thinking programs all weekend long.
TIER THREE TICKETS ARE STILL ONLY $100.
ARTISTS AND WORKSHOP PRESENTERS can fill out an application for a $50 ticket on our website.
Our final presale tickets are $160.
Tickets are only available at the gate for preregistered members of the Perma-Culture Community Network at $200.
Children 4-14 are $40 at the gate.
Children 3 and under are FREE!
Dogs are $20 at the gate.
Vehicles over 20ft are $20 at the gate.
